Single Stationary
Welded Metal Bellows Cartridge Mechanical Seal with Plain Gland
Mechanical Seal Style PHB
For the most demanding corrosive applications
These two single cartridge seals are engineered for the most demanding corrosive applications. By minimising the number of troublesome O-rings and eliminating any media exposure to the sleeves and glands, we offer two very cost effective solutions to industries’ toughest applications.
FEATURES:
Stationary welded metal bellows design for better face alignment
In highly corrosive conditions that require expensive upgrades to higher alloy metals like duplex stainless steel, Alloy 20, Hastelloy® C276, the PH seals are an ideal economical solution. Only the wetted parts need to be constructed of these alloys while the larger metal parts such as the gland and sleeve can be 316 stainless steel since they are located out of the product
The PHB cartridge seal contains only one O-ring which provides substantial cost savings when perfluorelastomers are required
Seal faces positioned near the lantern ring connection for enhanced cooling from product recirculation
Rotary seal ring is shrouded for protection
Short outboard length minimizes nearest obstruction problems
Hydraulically balanced design
No dynamic O-rings
Easy cartridge installation
Even face loading
Patented (Patent Number US 7,979,986) Plunger-Lock drive
Available in inch and metric sizes.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Materials of Construction
PHB Welded Metal Bellows: Standard Hastelloy® C276. Other available options include Inconel 718, Titanium, Monel™.
Rotating Metal Parts (Wetted) – Hastelloy® C276, other high alloys available
Non-wetted metal parts – Gland and sleeve 316 stainless steel
Operating Conditions
Max Temp: 400°F (204°C)
Max Pressure: 300 PSI (20 bar)
Max Speed: 6000 FPM (22 m/sec)

Note: Max Temperature / pressure / speed indicate operating extremes independently and do not imply the seal will function at these extremes at the same time. Contact Specialised Seals if in doubt.
